John Catanzara, an outright racist Chicago police officer and president of police union abruptly resigned as a police officer ahead of a formal police hearing to fire him. Catanzara has referred to Muslims as “savages” on social media and advocated killing them. He also expressed extremist views in support of the capitol riots earlier this year according to press reports. Catanzara, a pro-Trump police officer expressed his anti- Muslims views as far back as 2016. Catanzara has also expressed racist and hateful views against black people and Gay people.
