Arab American gas station owners in the city of Chicago complained that the city of Chicago code inspectors targeted them along with Asian American business owners because of their race in an effort to shut their businesses down. The owners said in a news conference held in Chicago that city inspectors cited them frequently and shut them down for “frivolous” and “ridiculous” code violations. These business owners ought to be supported and have their services to the community improved, not targeted and shut down.
