Islamophobic and anti-minorities politics of the GOP has been on a steady rise in the U.S. for more than a decade. If this trend continues on, it poses a serious threat to the social fabric of our communities, and encourages violence against minority groups. Elected officials and leaders of the GOP have failed to address the rise of extremism and xenophobia within the party. The GOP must work to end extremism within its party, in the mainstream, and hold politicians the likes of republican Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene to account. Extremist politicians must realize that their words have serious consequences not rewards.
