While Israel is in the midst of negotiations with the US to have its citizens enter the US through a Visa-Free program, it’s soldiers handcuffed and detained Omar Abdalmajeed As’ad, an 80-year elderly Palestinian-American man as he was passing by on his way home. As’ad died a short while later after being mistreated and roughed up by the soldiers. As a matter of policy, Israeli soldiers have total disregard to Palestinian lives. Palestinian Americans are no different. When Palestinian-American citizens try to enter the occupied Palestinian territories or Israel, they often get mistreated or delayed for very long hours or denied entry altogether. Given such mistreatment and discrimination against American citizens of Palestinian and Arab heritage, the US government should deny the Israeli request to have its own citizens enter the US visa-free.
