This article marks the historic announcement in the state of New Jersey that two hijab-wearing Muslim women were officially sworn in as judges in the state. Nadia Kahf, a Syrian-American attorney from Wayne, was sworn in at the Passaic County Courthouse, and the following day fellow hijab-wearing attorney Dalya Youssef was sworn to the Superior Court bench in Somerset County. The ascendancy of two visibly Muslim women made headlines as far as India, Morocco, and Turkey.
