The Jewish community in Chicago attacked the Republican candidate for governor Darren Bailey for visiting the Palestinian-American community center. At the center, the community has a map of historic Palestine at the center of the room. The Jewish community is upset because of the map of Palestine claiming that the Palestinians in Chicago to have ” erased” Israel from the map and ” replaced” Israel with Palestine. The truth of the matter is that Palestine has always been called Palestine by Palestinians and others around the world. Israel came to exist only in 1948 which doesn’t mean that Palestine must disappear to make room for Israel or to expect that Palestinians must replace the name of their country and homeland with Israel.
The Jewish groups in Chicago have no right to complain about a Palestinian American community group displaying the map of Palestine and calling it Palestine as you don’t see Arabs or Palestinians protest the display of the name of Israel on the map. Read more in the Chicago Tribune
