In an effort to obscure the boundaries between facts and fiction, Front Page Magazine equates oppositional activism and legitimate criticism of Israeli actions and policies against Palestinians with anti-Semitism. On March 23, 32022, The Middle East Studies Association (MESA) approved a resolution endorsing “the Palestinian call for solidarity in the form of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS).” The vote was 768-167.
Joseph Puder of Front Page Magazine went on to weaponized “anti-Semitism” to use it against legitimate speech against Israeli policies and actions.
This mischaracterization of facts and truth about the Israeli occupation is prevalent among media outlets that support and justify illegal Israeli actions.
BDS which calls for the boycott if Israeli academic institutions as a way to raise awareness about the true nature of Israeli political system and to pressure Israel to end its occupation is characterized by pro-Israeli groups and media outlets as a group that denies the existence of Israel. Cultural, academic and economic boycott of states that practice racism as a state policy or practice policies of apartheid against other people is legitimate.
