Far right Arizona republican congressman Paul Gosar called in a statement for the destruction of al Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem arguing that Jerusalem belongs to Jews only, not Christians or Muslims. Gosar statement came after UN vote affirming that Haram al-Sharif or the Nobel Sanctuary, the Muslim religious Islamic compound where the Dome of the Rock and Al Aqsa Mosques stand are exclusively Muslim. In his statement, Gosar called the Islamic holy site “an abomination to all religions.”
Gosar was censured by congress and stripped off his committee assignments last November for tweeting a video depicting himself killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking president Joe Biden.
