Pro-Israel groups often jump to label any legitimate criticism of Israel as “anti-Semitic” which has become the favorite intimidation tactic of the pro-Israel groups.
The Graduate and Professional Student Senate at Virginia Tech, passed a resolution last October calling for boycott of “all Israeli academic institutions complicit in maintaining the Israeli occupation and the denial of basic Palestinian rights,” as well as to divest from “all institutional investments from companies that profit from the Israeli occupation and apartheid.” Despite the clear language of the resolution that emphasized that the boycott would be against academic institutions “complicit in maintaining the Israeli occupation” Yet it was deemed as an “anti-Semitic “resolution and “targeting of Israeli and Jewish students” on campus by Aviva Rosenschein, International Campus Director of the Committee for Middle East Reporting and Analysis (CAMERA).
